The UNODC relies primarily on voluntary contributions and operates in all regions of the world, assisting member States in their struggle against illegal drugs, crime and international terrorism. Its goal is three-fold: 1. To initiate field-based technical cooperation projects to fight drugs, crime and terrorism; 2. To do research and analytical work on drug and crime issues to expand the evidence base for policy and operational decisions; 3. To assist States in the ratification and implementation of international treaties, in the development of legislation and the provision of services to treaty-based and governing bodies.
