Most employers want to know what the current standard is for Employee Drug Testing. Drugs tested can vary greatly based on company, industry, employee history, expense, expectations, federal requirements, etc. The minimum standard for most Employee Drug Testing Programs is the SAMHSA 5 list of drugs. Using the SAMHSA 5 list of drugs gives employers the confidence to know that they are starting on firm ground.

The federal government requirement set by SAMHSA-The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (www.SAMHSA.gov) for the SAMHSA 5 list of drugs concerns companies employing commercial class drivers. These companies must have a drug testing program in place. Among other things, this required drug testing program must test for 5 specific categories of drugs. Because of this federal requirement, most employment drug testing companies offer, at least, a basic 5 panel drug test which checks for drugs in these 5 common categories. Click on the substance name for a description of the drug and some common effects. Only SAMHSA 5 Drug Testing Kits Here
